Color Fusers Blog Hop September 2024
September 2, 2024 – is anyone else wondering what happened to summer? I definitely am! We dropped our son off in sunny Florida to begin the next chapter of his education. Although he is a bit far, I am happy to say he seems to be adjusting to college life rather nice. Meanwhile, I am trying to do better with my time management and spent a few hours creating for this blog hop before heading to work. Thankfully, I knew what I was going to use because of the color combination and pleasantly created 3 different cards for the Color Fuser Blog Hop September 2024.
My projects:
When I pulled my supplies, instantly designs came to me. I knew I wanted to use the dies but I didn’t realize how cool they were! I loved the embossing folder and then matching the die to the shapes was so simple. The card planning went smoothly because I made one cut from all 3 colors and used them to make my cards. Each one slightly different that I can’t wait to share with my class people.
Card #1
The first card I used sponge daubers to darken the edges of the leaves. A quick technique that truly makes the leaves pop! The new forever plaid embossing folder I am sure will be a favorite!
- cut base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering card stock 3 3/4″ x 5″
- emboss with your favorite folder
- emboss and cut out the leaves – use all 3 colors
- sponge dauber the edges of the stamps
- dies cut sentiment piece and stamp
- assemble card as shown
- finish with adding embellishments
Card #2
I took a different approach and made a fun folded card.
- cut card base 4 1/4″ x11″
- score at 5 1/2″
- trim off 1 1/4″ from one end of the card base
- cut inside piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
- using a piece of scrap (1 1/4″ x 4″) cover with 3/4″ scraps of card stock
- cut a piece of designer series paper 3 /4″ x 4″
- to create the card handle, 1″ x 4″ piece of scrap
- put a 1/2″ scrap down the middle
- tuck under the inside cardstock before adhering
- stamp sentiment in pecan pie
- assemble card as shown
- add ribbon
- add embellishments
Card #3
This one I decided it was time use the stamps. I tried a few different ways to color the stamp but went with using the markers to create the tri color effect. I stamped the image in crumb cake then took the crush curry marker, then the pecan pie and colored parts of the stamp. What do you think?
- cut card base 4 1/4″ x 11″
- score at 5 1/2″
- cut layering piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
- cut basic white 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ (want the piece the same in height)
- color the stamp, then stamp the stamp 2 times
- add ribbon before you adhere to card base
- add sentiment
- place embellishments to finish
Time to hop!
Well, that was fun! 3 cards using the same color combination and supplies. I hope you are inspired to create a card on your own. My supplies are listed below for easy reference. Hop through the other demonstrators to see their creations. I am sure they will be spectacular.
