Color Fusers Blog Hop January 2024
HELLO! HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024! I am so ready for this year to start! And there is no better way than a blog hop! Hello, Color Fusers Blog Hop January 2024 is starting the year off and I have no doubt the creations will be spectacular!
My Project:
Have you ever thought I have nothing to craft with? Kind of like when you walk into your closet and say I have nothing to wear. That is how I felt when I sat down to craft. I don’t know if it was the color combination as I am just coming off holiday creating with all the red, green, blue, light pink shades or seriously I have nothing to craft with. I decided I needed to color block and see where it would take me.
the details:
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering card stock 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″
- cut basic white 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (after you attach your strips of paper, trim to 4″ x 5 1/4″)
- trim strips of card stock 1″ wide and place on paper as shown
- stamp cupcake image
- color with stampin’ blends
- fussy cut the cup cake
- die cut the nest essentials shape and stamp sentiment
- add ribbon to make it look like a gift
- add sentiment and cupcake
- finish with bow and gems
Walk Away and then revisit
So I had to work today and I thought about my card from last night. Was it too simple? Was it boring? I didn’t show anything new? What did I do when I got home, I made another card. The second card features the same color combination and accessories. However, I changed out the stamp set and added an embossing folder.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my cards for this month. This coming year, my goal is to step out of my comfort zone. It was a rough 2023. I have been dealing with nerve pain for over 6 months in both my legs. I tried physical therapy and an epidural but the relief was short lived. Crafting is my passion and sharing with you I truly love with all my heart. I celebrated my 20th year with Stampin’ Up! in November and it has been my life line on my sad days. Thank you for being a positive in my life and letting me share with you what I love to do. My supplies are listed below for easy reference. Enjoy hopping through the other talented demonstrators.

It is true how one’s perspective changes once you walk away from a project and return later. I have done that and with fresh eyes, I have figured out what to do immediately. Great job on both cards.
