Holiday Card Club September 2023
Are you busy the 4th Thursday of the month? Want to join in my Holiday Card Club? I start my club in July and finishit the 2nd week of December. By then club members have 48 cards created on a non-stress level. The cards are prepped for everyone and completing them comes with ease, not frustration. The only downfall, people just struggle making a bow that I have made some cards with no ribbon (the horror) or a simple knot. Let’s take a look at the Holiday Card Club September 2023 creations.
Card #1
The stamp set this month as Joy to You. I picked it becaue I absolutely LOVE stacked sentiments and I liked how large they were. No mini stamp that I could easily stamp on die cut or punch. It challenged me and creating 4 cards with the sentiments, I will consider a “Joy to me.” The first card, I did a fun folded card that is merry and bright.
The Details:
- cut blueberry bushel card base 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and “flap” 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″
- score the flap at 1/2″ with the 4 1/2″ side along the top of the scorer
- cut white 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 2 1/4″ x 3 3/4″
- cut pool party 2 1/2″ x 4″
- trim DSP 3″ x 4″ and 1/2″ x 3 3/4″
- stamp sentiment in blueberry bushel
- tie ribbon
- assemble card as shown
- add rhinestones
Card #2
The first reaction in class to this card…lots of pieces and lemon lime twist really isn’t a holiday color. HOWEVER, after completing the card, they were all happy with the results. Plus, it was another fun folded card!
The Details:
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″
- score at 4 1/2″ with the 6 1/2″ along the top and 3 1/4″
- cut poppy parade 2″ x 5 1/4″ and 4 x 5 1/4″ and 3″ x 4″
- cut white layering pieces 3 3/4 x 5″ and 2 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
- emboss with your favorite embossing folder
- trim DSP 1 3/4″ x 5″
- stamp sentiment in poppy parade
- die cut tree and star from merriest tree dies
- assemble card as shown
- add rhinestones
Note Card #1
I love the variety of colors in the designer series paper pack. Highlighting the colors I kept design to minimal. A simple die cut from the nested essentials dies and the tree from the merriest tree dies.
- cut shaded spruce card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
- trim dsp 3″ x 4 1/2″ (you can get 10 card fronts out of one 12″ x 12″)
- die cut the bracket from nested essentials dies
- stamp sentiment in shaded spruce
- die cut tree from merriest trees dies
- add 1/4″ strips to corner
- assemble as shown
Note Card #2
The last card in the group I broke out my light bulb punch and added 2 of them to finish the card. Sometimes a simple punch makes all the difference in finishing a card.
- cut crushed curry card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
- trim dsp 3″ x 4 1/2″ (you can get 10 card fronts out of one 12″ x 12″)
- die cut the square from stylish shapes dies
- stamp sentiment in crushed curry
- punch out the light bulbs in coordinating card stock
- add ribbon
- assemble as shown
- add pearls as the finishing touch!
