Color Fuser Blog Hop October 2022

And just like that another month has gone by…soon it will be January 2023 and we will all be wondering how did that happen! So like clock work, I wait until the day before, really the night before to do my project. I checked out the color combination earlier today and had an idea in my head but the colors didn’t work with what I was thinking. Plan B, pull out a bunch of stamp sets and look for inspiration. I have to be honest, I was like ok sunflowers, but I can’t color with Stampin’ Blends because no early espresso and mango melody. Plan C, I ruled out all the stamp sets that were fall related. Let’s see what I came up with for Color Fuser Blog Hop October 2022.

My Projects:

Yes I went Christmas. Am I crazy? Maybe, part of me thinks I am. I struggled for a hot second which direction to go. BUT I am happy with the final result. Not sure which card I prefer. One I used the stamps from the set to create my focal point. At the last minute, I added the outline to the tree. The other card, I decided to use the coordinating dies and then take the Early Espresso paper to give the objects an outline.

Card #1

For the background on both cards, I used a Stampin’ Sponge to create. I tend to use paper to display the colors but decided to use something different.

  • cut the card base 5 1/2″ x 11″
  • score at 4 1/4″
  • cut layering piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • cut basic white 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • using a sponge wedge, swirl the selected colors onto the basic white card stock
  • cut the center piece 3″ x 4 1/4″
  • cut basic white 2 3/4″ x 4″
  • stamp images as shown
  • adhere the outline to the tree
  • using a glue dot, place a bow at the base of the tree

Card #2

The die cuts are so cute that they deserved a card in their honor. I went for the more dramatic effect and used Early Espresso to outline the images. Using a blend, I colored the inside of the star and the string of lights on the tree. I do love how it all came together!

  • cut the card base 5 1/2″ x 11″
  • score at 4 1/4″
  • cut layering piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • cut basic white 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • using a sponge wedge, swirl the selected colors onto the basic white card stock
  • cut the center piece 3″ x 4 1/4″
  • cut basic white 2 3/4″ x 4″
  • die cut the images in the colors shown or another color combination you prefer
  • assemble and adhere to card stock
  • stamp sentiment and create a banner
