Barn Door Bundle
One of the first bundles that caught my eye in the Occasions 2018 Catalog was the Barn Door Bundle. With all the HGTV programs with the redesigning of homes with barn door entries into living rooms, bathrooms or closets, it drew me right in! I knew the Barn Door Bundle was going to featured in one of my classes but it unfortunately took me a bit to get it on my schedule. Now that Sale-a-bration ended, it’s time to highlight the items in the Occasions Catalog!
Single Door Card
Several variations can be found using the Barn Door Bundle. First up, I tried the door as a single door with no “sliding” feature. I added some Designer Series Paper behind it and placed a wreath on the door. Look at how cute it turned out!
Tranquil Tide is the card base color. I haven’t really touched it in months Not sure why, but when I was looking through my Designer Series Paper, it worked with two different packs, the Delightful Daisy as well as A Whole Lot of Lovely. I love Stampin’ Up! provides numerous choices using the same color! Cut the Designer Series Paper 1 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ strips to help max out your supplies. The center piece hides where the Designer Series doesn’t cover.
Sliding Door Framelits!
Using a sponge dauber, I shaded around the outside of my Soft Suede Door with Early Espresso. The wreath, stamped in Tranquil Tide and the ribbon, stamped in Calypso Coral. If you look at the Sliding Door Framelits, there is a separate framelit for the ribbon. (bottom right corner) So any color ribbon you want, you can create. Same with the flowers, you can stamp the wreath with the flowers all the some color included with the wreath, or change colors and cut all 3 together or separately!
HELPFUL TIP!
After stamping my door, sentiment and just about ready to assemble, one HELPFUL TIP I highly recommend…using Stampin’ Up! Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets for all the small delicate pieces included in the Sliding Door Framelits. It makes placing the tiny pieces on to your project so much easier.
Looking at the picture, cutting strips of both the Early Espresso card stock and the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. This will help with attaching the hardware pieces. EVERY ONE in class loved using them! For this card, trimming the running track is necessary and when you place the “rollers”, you want them positioned on the track. I showed my dad the card and he asked me where I found little hardware like that. He didn’t realize it was paper! We shared a good laugh when I told him. As you can see the handle is also small, so by using the adhesive sheets, no glue mess! Using dimensionals, I popped the wreath on to the door and my card was finished.
Video!
Yes, Home Office does provide a video for this bundle. I have made 2 other cards to share with you in the near future. In the video, it demonstrates how to create the door so it will slide. Stampin’ Up! uses small washers. I adjusted mine by using 1/2″ circles instead and it works just as good! Watch the video and let me know what you think!
OnLine Shopping!
I know I say it often about shopping my online store but I have to ask, do you shop it? Is it a good idea to remind you to shop for supplies or should I omit it? I am always looking to grow my business and I have received numerous tips from others but you as my website followers, I was wondering what catches you eye and leads you to my store to purchase supplies? I love sharing all that I do and providing a product list, I just want to make sure I am providing what you need.
