Something new to my website posts and I am thrilled! A few weeks ago my friend Debbie asked if I would be interested in doing a monthly blog hop that featured certain colors. Jumping at the chance, I quickly responded YES! Why? I love ALL the colors offered by Stampin’ Up! Plus, I love the idea of being challenged of working with certain colors. Let’s start this off, Color Fusers Blog Hop March 2018!
Color Fusers Blog Hop March 2018
From the picture above, the 4 colors will be part of my projects. The first thing I did was grab the card stock in the following colors as well as ribbon. If you don’t know me, I LOVE ribbon and I often refer to it as the mascara to my card. Just like applying mascara to finish my eyes, my card is usually not complete unless I add some ribbon. Once I started with one card, I had another card in mind and then another! YES, 3 cards all using the same color palatte!
Lots of Love Stamp Set:
I decided to keep things simple and focus on ONE stamp set for all the cards. This way, how awesome to see three card layouts with the same stamp set and color palette. The Lots of Love Stamp Set in the Annual Catalog has numerous images that work perfectly for a variety of cards.
Card #1
I absolutely love creating cards with this card base layout.
- cut card base (Pear Pizzazz) 4 1/4″ x 11
- score at 5 1/2″
- trim off 2 3/4″ piece (this piece is used for your greeting on the card!)
The Whisper White Card Stock pieces you will need to finish the card:
- cut inside piece 4″ x 5 1/4″
- cut 2 additional pieces for the greeting and folded flap 2 1/2″ x 4″
When you place the sentiment, use dimensionals to only the side being attached to the card flap. I stamped additional flowers and leaves to add to the greeting and placed a Glimmer Enamel Dot in the center.
Card #2
I haven’t made a card with this layout in a while and felt it was time.
- cut card base (Garden Green) 4 1/4″ x 11″
- score at 5 1/2″
- cut layering piece (Rich Razzleberry) 4″ x 5 1/4″
- cut Whisper White 3 7/16″ x 5″
- after you stamp, cut 3 strips 1 1/8″ x 5″
When you place the strips, I find it easier to place the two outside pieces first and the middle piece last. The Love You was stamped on scrap white and cut with the Sweet & Sassy Framelits. EASY!
Card #3
A basic card that is quick but effective!
- cut card base (Crushed Curry) 4 1/4″ x 11″
- score at 5 1/2″
- cut layering piece (Garden Green) 4″ x 5 1/4
- cut Whisper White card stock 2″ x 5 1/4″
Before you attach the Garden Green Layering Piece, run the Petal Pair Embossing Folder at the bottom of the card. Add the Whisper White piece and finish with Crushed Curry Ribbon before adhering to the card base. The Thinking of You was stamped on scrap paper and punch with 1 3/4″ circle and 2″ circle punch for the outside layer.
Wrapping it up!
Well, that’s a wrap on my three cards. It has me thinking though, how easy these layouts are to create a whole set of cards in another color palette. That is one of the WONDERFUL things about Stampin’ Up! the crafting possibilities are endless! All supplies I used are listed at the bottom of my post for reference.
