When the Sale-a-bration Catalog went live on January 3rd, many projects were added to my to do list. I want to create so many things, which can be overwhelming, however, writing down your list and tackling it is the best feeling! I knew right away, the Sale-a-bration Lots of Lavender would be my first stamp set to create with.
Sale-a-bration Lots of Lavender:
The Lots of Lavender Stamp Set is considered a two-step stamp. What does that mean? From the shapes above, you first stamp the “outline” stamp followed by the shaded stamps to fill in the outline. The outline is stamped in a darker shade and the filler is done in a lighter shade. In my Always thinking of you card, I stamped the outline of the lavender stamp in Basic Black Archival Ink and the filler in Soft Sky and Wisteria Wonder. The leaves were filled in with Wild Wasabi. A simple card highlighting how pretty this set can look in soft colors against black. The NEW Simple Stripe Embossing Folder added a little texture to the bottom half of the card. Of course, the addition of the Black Shimmer Ribbon finished my card.
Another Shading Option:
One of the benefits of the stamp set, you do not necessarily need to use the filler shapes to color the stamp image. The outline of the lavender or the smaller stamp with flower can be colored with watercolor pencils, aqua painters and reinkers or even markers. On the Note Card below, I used the new Stampin’ Blends to color in the stamp image. A perfect way to highlight the pretty floral scroll.
Sweet Soiree Speciality Designer Series Paper:
On the Note Card, I chose to highlight the beautiful Sweet Soiree Speciality Designer Series Paper. It was the perfect backdrop to highlight the elegant floral scroll in the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set. I used the Stampin’ Blends to color in the flowers and leaves and after I cut the flower, I used a dimensional to pop it. The sentiment is from the NEW Petal Palette Stamp Set. Finish the note card with some Old Olive Mini Chevron Ribbon and my note card is ready to be sent in the mail! YAY!
