Well it was bound to happen, Graduation 2017 Season is upon us. Not that I am in denial, but my oldest will be graduating high school next month. It seems like yesterday I was waiting for his arrival! I decided it was time for Graduation 2017 Cards! I chose the Number of Years Stamp Set because I can easily change the flower color to match school colors! I cut the first layer of card stock at 4 1/8′ x 5 3/8″ because I wanted enough room on the Whisper White layer (4 x 5 1/4″) to stamp the flowers.
Masking to complete arrangement of flowers:
To create the arrangement of flowers, I used a layering oval framelit as a mask. It made it a lot easier to see how I was stamping! Once I was finished with the leaves, I picked the colors for the flowers. I did use a smaller oval (approximately 2 3/8″ x 3 1/4″) for the masking. On the finished project the Whisper White oval is approximately 2 5/8″ x 3 1/2″. Using the larger oval at the end covers any “mistakes” you may have had with stamping with the mask. We know there really are no mistakes with stamping. I hope my picture helps with this part of the card.
The Small Details:
Next, add your flowers, place on card stock of your choice then make your year. The Large Number Framelits make creating any year possible! The graduation cap, was an easy add on. To create, I cut a 1 1/4″ x 1 1/4″ square and the tassel came from the Balloon Framelits. Overall, it was easy to create several of these at one time! FYI – the retiring Balloon Framelits are on sale for $13.60 until 5/31!!!!!
The Balloon Framelits can be used numerous ways. Be sure to check my past post, RETIRING Celebrate Today Stamp Set and Balloon Framelits for more creations. Also, I searched past photos and found this graduation card from last year using the Celebrate Today Stamp Set, Balloon Framelits and Large Number Framelits. (My old website is on the photo, please disregard it has been updated.)
With one NEW graduation design down, I have a few more to go. I did recreate the card for a 60th birthday card request that I will post later. The Number of Years flowers looks great with any color combination. Be sure to take a look at the retiring product. I know I am repeating myself, I just don’t want you to miss out on some amazing deals!
