I have been wanting to create with the NEW Beautiful You Stamp Set for awhile. Finally, today was the day, I set time aside and created not one but four different cards featuring the stamp set. When it came out in the Occasions Catalog, I wasn’t smitten with it until I saw samples and of course I changed my mind. The words and the 3 stylish ladies are fitting for many occasions. I think my favorite “lady” stamp in the set is the one with the umbrella. She’s kind of mysterious and has you wondering what’s on her mind.
After attempting to use reinkers on watercoloring paper, I was not happy with the result. I switched to Whisper White Card Stock and colored the image with Island Indigo and Mint Macaron Stampin’ Up! Markers. The Island Indigo was dark and hid the outline of her dress. On a whim, I took my aqua painter and gently went over the image. I LOVED that it lightened up her dress, giving it a shaded look. I then tried it on the umbrella! It gave me the effect I was trying to achieve with the reinkers but was not successful. What do you think?????
