With the second release of Sale-a-bration items on 2/21, I wanted to create a card using the Reversed Words. I knew I wanted a “shading” effect on it. Some may call it a “kissing effect” or “rock and roll.” Basically, it using a lighter color with a darker color sponged onto the stamp before it hits the paper. I started with the Watermelon Wonder and Peek a Boo Peach. Then of course, my mind thought of the pink combination followed by the blue version. It is amazing how one concept gives me endless choices of color combinations! I mixed in some stamps from the Gorgeous Grunge and Cottage Greetings stamp sets before adding my favorite accessory….Stampin’ Up! Ribbon!
Here’s a closer look of the cards. You have more control when you use sponge daubers versus sponges. However, be careful not to have too many dauber marks like you see in the bottom right card. It’s ok, but I like when the shape of the dauber isn’t as noticeable.
Working on adding to my video library, I made a short one today on how the card is created. I have to invest in a video camera and stand so I can show different angles. Soon I hope!
Sale-a-bration is only here until March 31st. If you haven’t looked over what you can pick for FREE with every $50 order, like the Reversed Words, be sure to check out BOTH brochures. All items are while supplies last!
Have a wonderful weekend and keep checking back for more posts! I hope you are enjoying the content of my website!
