A little glimmer can go a long way! I am in love with the NEW Sale-a-bration 6×6 Glimmer Paper Assortment Pack that I created a whole card class showcasing it! Who wouldn’t want their own supply of this paper pack? Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron and Sweet Sugarplum are the colors in the pack and whether you use them together or separate, it adds the WOW factor to your creation!
In this particular card, I went out of my normal routine and created a Fun Folded Card…super cute, right? At first, I had the card base as Sweet Sugarplum, but it wasn’t working for me. Instead, I went for the more dramatic approach and used Basic Black! The Glimmer Paper just pops, as well as the Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper. I used Stampin’ Up! markers (Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, Pink Pirouette, and Sweet Sugar Plum) to color the detailed paper. What do you think?
A video to show you all the designs included in the Inside the Lines Designer Series Pack
To create the Dragonfly Dreams Fun Folded Card:
- cut card base 4 1/4″ x 11″
- with the 11″ along the top, score at 3 3/4″ and 9″
- cut Inside the Lines Designer Series Paper 1″ x 9 1/2″ for the belly band
- cut the inside Whisper White card stock 3 1/2″ x 5″
- with the Whisper White card stock, put the 5″ along the top, score at 1/2″ to create the fold to adhesive to the card base
- cut the Glimmer Paper 3 1/2″ x 3″
- cut the layering piece 3 1/4″ x 2 3/4″
You will use the belly band to wrap around where you folded up the bottom of the card to keep it closed. The Whisper White will tuck nicely inside the “pocket.” I used the Pansy Punch and Petite Petal punch to keep the top of card in place. Of course, add some Basic Black Baker’s Twine to complete my cards.
The Dragonfly Dreams cards are part of my class next week. I wound up challenging myself to create a class around the 3 colors of the Glimmer Paper. It is only available for such a short time (until supplies last or 3/31/17) that I wanted to make sure I use it! I am in love it with it, haven’t I mentioned that? Here’s my class photo. If you want more details on the other 2 cards, check my website for their post. It’s all about the details!
I have shared this video on the Glimmer Paper but incase you missed it…
Oh are you wondering how I colored the back of the dragonfly? I took scrap Whisper White and with sponge daubers, shaded it! Next, run the thinlit over the paper and you have your colorful background! EASY but so effective! Again, I would love to hear from you!!
