Holiday Cards October 2024

I had a good thing going last month and then the holiday hit, then back to school for my youngest, then I wasn’t feeling well for a few days. Lots of excuses, no energy to craft but that is changing! I feel a lot better and I miss crafting. My winter retreat is next month and I need to start planning! However, I still have 3 months of holiday cards to share. Holiday Cards October 2024 are featured below!

Traditions of St Nick:

Funny thing happened this year when I was designing for my classes. I truly felt that there was not a lot of Designer Series Paper to choose from. I must need glasses. There was plenty, I just over looked it because of the new catalog layout. Did you have the same problem? The Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper was part of the OnLine Exclusives and sold out pretty much after I created my cards! At least I got to share it with my customers and now you. YOu can easily switch out the paper with another pattern and create the cards.

Card #1 –

Book end fold featuring the old fashion Santa. I do love this fold because it is easy cutting with the DSP. The paper paper is cut into 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ squares giving you 9 per sheet of 12″ x 12″.

cut card base 4 1/4″ x 11″ score at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″
cut layering card stock 1″ x 4″ and 4″ x 4″
trim DSP 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
assemble card as shown
add ribbon prior to adhering the book fold
stamp sentiment on basic white 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ for inside card
stamp sentiment on banner die cut in wild wheat
gold gems to finish card

Card #2

Here is card #2 featuring the stocking design from the paper pack. I chose to add some small strips of paper to showcase some of the colors in the paper. I love doing the diagonal look because I feel like it ties it altogether to complete the look. The strips are 1/2″ in size and I place on basic white card stock so I can trim to get perfect edges. Add a little ribbon and the star of the show comes from the Sweetest Star Bundle. Good old Santa was colored with Stampin’ Blends before being placed on a Spotlight by Nature die cut.

Note Cards

I am a big fan of note cards for my class that have 4 cards included. WHY? It truly helps with prep time AND I love challenging myself to designer on a smaller scale. The note cards for this month, featuring the same DSP, can be cut to make 10 note cards. I tell you I am a fan of maximizing my paper!

cut layering card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
cut DSP 3″ x 4 1/2″
trim another DSP pattern for strip in top card 3/4″ x 4 1/2″
assemble cards as shown
die cut stitched shape square and circle and items from Hang an Ornament dies
complete cards with adding ribbon and gems

Oh my, have you seen the goodies in this gem! Lots of product to choose from! And just a fair warning, always look at the bundles with punches! They tend to sell out first and take longer to restock!
