Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2024
April Fool’s Day is here and so is the Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2024. It amazes me how fast the months go by. Do you ever feel that way, that time is going quickly? I tried numerous times to be better prepared for the hop and once again, I am writing this with only a few hours to spare. I work better under pressure. Let’s take a look at the projects I created using this month’s color combination.
The Projects:
Made one card and then decided to make another. I struggled a little with this color combination. The two greens, Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party are very similar. I created the card with Dots & Spots Die first.
Card #1
The Dots & Spot Die I have had for a bit and rarely use it. Not by choice because look how it helps balance out my card by adding texture. I love the white behind it. As for the ribbon, I used the Coral Calypso Blend to color it to coordinate with the card. The Adoring Heart stamp was used for the focal point. I love this heart shaped wreath.
- cut card base on 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″
- die cut 3 3/4″ x 5″ with the Dots & Spots Die
- die cut a Stylish Shape Square
- cut a 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ square to place behind the white focal point
- color the stamped image with Stampin’ Blends
- using the coral blend, color the ribbon to coordinate
- die cut the banner for “just for you”
- assemble as shown
- add irridescent pearls
Card #2
Emboss Resist was used on my second creation. I worked this Easter at the hospital and often found myself thinking about the what I was going to create. It didn’t come easy however, I love how it came together. Sharing ideas wih you and others really is my motivation. Do you know how this tecnhnique works?
Emboss Resist
To duplicate this card:
- I use the retired Stampin’ Buddy on my card stock first to remove all static
- Then stamped the sentiment numerous times
- Sprinkle Clear Embossing Powder on the Congrats card and White on the Birthday Card
- Heat the powder with the heat gun until smooth
- Using the Stampin’ Blending Brushes, I used the three colors to cover the white card stock
- Once finished, I take a paper towel and wipe off any ink on the embossed part
To complete the card:
- cut card base on 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering card stock 4″ x 5 1/4″
- emboss the sentiment of your choice in white or clear embossing powder
- using the stampin’ blending brushes, I created my background on the basic white card stock
- die cut the ballons for both cards
- stamp and cut the extra words
- assemble the card as showm
- add the irridescent pearls
