Holiday Card Club August 2023
Hello! I hope you are enjoying the first weekend into the fall season. With several projects to post, I decided to show the Holiday Card Club August 2023 cards. With the holidays fast approaching, I hope you enjoy seeing the projects I created for the class. Each month, on the 4th Thursday (previously on Tuesday) I hold my holiday card club class. Everyone is welcome to attend and I do offer zoom and class to go.
My projects!
With several options to choose from, I decided on the Merriest Trees Bundle and the Walk in the Forest Designer Series Pack. Each month, I try to limit my supplies with my Holiday Card Club Class. You may wonder WHY? Well, I like to max out the possibilities of using one pack of paper with a bundle. I also like for purposing of ordering – if you like the cards I just made your shopping list small – 2 main items and some accessories. All my supplies are listed at the bottom of post for easy reference.
Card #1:
When I start to create, I pull out ALL the card stock that coordinates with the designer series pack. From there I decide what catches my eye and begin to create. I know kind of limited on details but that’s what I do. For Card #1, I went with the traditional colors of Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green.
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/2″
- cut basic white 4″ x 5 1/4″
- trim one pattern of dsp 1 7/8 x 3 7/8″ and one 1 /7/8 x 3 1/8″
- cut card stock 1 7/8″ x 3 1/8″ and emboss in a favorite folder
- assemble as shown
- die cut 2 circles to over lap
- stamp sentiment
- add ribbon (of course)
Card #2
This was my “green” card using Old Olive and Pretty Peacock. I didn’t think it would work but then again, Stampin’ Up! colors rock and is there ever a color combination that just doesn’t work?
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/2″
- cut pretty peacock 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″
- cut basic white 3 3/4″ x 5″ and emboss in your favorite folder
- trim one pattern of dsp 1 1/2″ x 5″ and one 3″ x 3″
- die cut tree and star
- stamp sentiment in pretty peacock
- create tree truck with pecan pie card stock
- assemble as shown
Note card #1
I love to use Stampin’ Up! note cards in my club class. WHY? That’s an easy one, because the card base is already cut and scored!! Less prep work! PLUS I can get 10 card fronts from one sheet of 12×12 dsp when I use a note card. Another great way to show off the amazing patterns from the talented graphic department.
- cut layering card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
- cut designer series paper 3″ x 4 1/2″
- die cut the tag
- stamp tree in old olive and die cut
- stamp presents as shown with coordinating colors, sentiment stamped in pecan pie
- assemble as shown
Note Card # 2
The last note card to wrap up the Holiday Card Club August 2023 was rather simple but I LOVE IT!
- cut layering card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
- cut designer series paper 3″ x 4 1/2″
- die cut circle and tree
- punch out banners for sentiments
- stamp sentiments with pretty peacock
- add ribbon
- assemble as shown
Holiday Card Club
For the past few years, I hold a card club each month. January through June the projects tend to be all occasions cards and then July through December is all about holiday creations. I welcome everyone to join near or far. I hold the class at my home but it is also available on zoom (the day of class) or class to go. Class to go is mailed shortly after class. Just contact me to get your packet after class is held. I am using the Joy to You Stamp Set and the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper.
Have a great weekend!
Yesterday, my stepmom held “fakesgiving.” You may ask what that is. Basically, it’s Thanksgiving dinner a few weeks before the actual holiday. There were 60 people at home, all enjoying the food and conversations. The weather people predicted a bad storm and we had prepared for it. Although rainy and chilly, my stepmom did a great job hosting 60 people! Enjoy your Sunday I am off to create this month’s cards! If you loved the cards, I would love it if you left me a comment!
Happy Stampin’
