Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2023
HELLO everyone! I can not believe it is already June! This year is flying by. The Color Fusers Blog Hop June 2023 has a pretty cool color combination. Do you see 1 NEW color, 1 retiring color and 1 current color! I couldn’t wait to get started this month. However, when I sat down to create, I realized, I barely bought anything from the new catalog! My focus had been on getting the new colors and totally forgot about getting stamps and paper! YIKES! I managed to pull myself together and created 2 sets of cards to share with you!
My Projects:
I probably am in good company when I say I tend to leave things to the last minute. Often I tell myself that I have plenty of time and in reality, I don’t. Last week I held my Birthday Card Club and I said, create for the Color Fuser Blog Hop for class. Guess what? I did just that. These two card designs were part of my class and had rave reviews from my people.
Card #1:
Stampin’ Up! has some wonderful Designer Series Paper and when I looked through the book, I decided to create my own along with one pattern. I just received the new 3 pack of embossing folders (LOVE THEM!) and here was an opportunity to showcase them. Do you LOVE polka dots? The CIrcle Sayings Stamp Set has been a favorite since it arrived at my house. I love the colors for the seashells and it’s summer – we all think beach, don’t we?
Details:
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering piece (pretty peacock) 4 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
- cut white card stock 4 5/8″ x 3 1/2″
- trim strips of card stock or dsp 3 1/4″ x 1″
- complete card as shown
- add ribbon
- stamp sentiment and punch
- color with Stampin’ Blends
- sponge dauber the edge of the circle in pool party
- add embellishements
Card #2:
My Club Classes include 2 cards designed with the Stampin’ Up! Note Cards as the card base. I love the challenge of creating the front of note cards. I tend to use DSP because you can get 10 card fronts from one 12×12. On this month’s note card, I used the new Foursquare Decorative Masks with the mini blending brush. Wanting to add a little color to the background but I am still learning the technique with the brushes that I went a bit darker than I wanted. When I design classes, I try to always create 2 versions of the card. Most of the time it is a vertical and horizontial switch, sometimes it’s color switch. My goal is to hopefully inspire you to create.
Details:
- cut layering card stock 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″
- cut white card stock 4 1/2″ x 3″
- using a mask, blend bubble bath on white card stock
- complete the card as shown adding the ribbon to the corner
- stamp sentiment from stamp set
- stamp and punch the leaves
- assemble card as shown
- add rhinestones
