Color Fusers Blog Hop January 2021
Happy New Year! I hope you all have had a lovely holiday season and are ready to start 2021 in the best way ever! I for one and looking forward to having a better year. Many obstacles to over come from 2020 but let us bring on a better year! To start, it’s the first Monday of the month and that means, The Color Fusers Blog Hop January 2021 is ready to go!
My Project:
When the colors were posted for this month’s blog hop, I was happy to see bright cheery colors! I knew I wanted to show off a new stamp set from the upcoming Mini Catalog. I also knew how fun it would be to do some shading with the colors. A little clear embossing powder, versa mark, heat tool and sponge daubers and I have just the look I wanted to created.
The Details:
- cut card stock 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- cut layering piece 5 1/4″ x 4″
- cut Whisper White 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
- stamp image from the Art Gallery Stamp Set with versa mark onto the Whisper White card stock
- sprinkle Clear embossing powder, shake/tap the excess off
- using the heat tool, heat the powder until it’s clear and shiny
Grab your ink pads and sponge daubers and lets have some fun! I usually go for the lightest color first because if you start out with the darkest, you can’t make it light. My logic, not sure if it really makes sense but to me it does. (LOL) I started with Mango Melody, then Melon Mambo, Garden Green and lastly Pacific Point. Once I was happy with the shading, I took a paper towel and rubbed over the embossed image to remove any ink. Most of it comes off and you can see the image is very white.

I took a quick snapshot of the products I used. My lighting is bad today, I apologize. I love the new Pick a Banner Punch. I added a 3/4″ piece of Mango Melody to a 1″ piece of Whisper White before placing it inside the punch to create the banner. Using up scraps is my favorite thing to do! I hold onto them for so long so when I use them, it makes me happy!
