Sunday Sunshine!

Is that the sun in the sky today!  That is 2 days of sunshine here on Long Island and the temperature is so warm too! With open arms, I am welcoming Sunday Sunshine!  This quarantine, I think we are in week 7 has taken it’s toll on me as I am so not used to the quiet and the chaos of the daily routine.  All 3 boys are home, all doing schooling on the computers and hate to say it, bored.  Nope, they are not crafters but they are the best 3 sons a mom could ask for.

Bonanza Buddies for Card Club!

This month, I chose the retiring Bonanza Buddies Bundle for my card club.  Even under quarantine, I am still creating (not as often as I would hope) and holding classes.  How is the possible?  I have been doing weekly Zoom classes and it has been terrific!  I am working on my Zoom schedule for this month and everyone is welcome to participate.  I have to plan ahead so supplies can be shipped.  Today’s card was a big hit.  I loved how it turned out featuring the toucan bird.

The Details:

The biggest detail you may notice is the placement of the banners on the vertical card.  Each card, when I design, I try to alter slightly.  Rarely are they exactly the same. The banners, were not initially placed like that until I was creating and when I was messing around they fell onto the card in that position!  I went will it and  actually love how it turned out!  The Basic Black Banner is 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ before your place in the punch. The pattern paper is 2″ x 5 1/2″ before you play in the punch.  I would rather trim it slightly then make the banner too small.  As for the horizontal card, to max out the paper I cut it 4″ x 2″ and did the banner punch on both sides.  I then cut the banner in hals and placed each piece over the 1″ black banner.  The Stitched Shapes Circle covered my opening. Yes, the dies have a circle for the balloons but I used the 3/4″ circle punch to save time.  I truly love how the finished product turned out. Do you?
