Celebrate USA Framed Art
Happy Memorial Day! I am very grateful to the service men and women of the United States of America. It lead me to create a framed art piece that could be displayed for Memorial Day as well as July 4th. Today’s post highlights the Celebrate USA Framed Art piece I created last month.
Create your own framed art!
One of my favorite projects to create is the Framed Art “Sampler” as many refer them as. I love making the 3″ x 3″ squares from numerous Stampin’ Up! Products. It challenges me to think outside the box and bring something to life. I have created several framed arts and just when I think I may have exhausted my options of completing one, a new theme appears.
The Details:
- cut seven Basic Gray 3″ x 3″ squares
- cut one Basic Gray 3″ x 6 1/4″ rectangle
- Real Red layering piece cut 2 7/8″ x 6 1/8″
- Whisper White or Designer Series Paper layering piece is cut 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″
- cut Whisper White 2 3/4″ x 6″ for the “Celebrate USA)
- using numerous Stampin’ Up! Product, create each square
Time to Assemble!
Once I have completed my squares, it is time to assemble. It does take some time, as I like to change out different squares making sure things balance. I also try to make each one slightly different with the positioning. The 3 banner square is on ALL of my framed art pieces. It has pretty much been placed in every spot. I use this graphic below to show you how to place your squares. Before you place them, I put a mini glue dot in the center to help keep them tacked in place before I finalize my design. Once I am happy with each of the locations, I add mini glue dots to each color to secure it in place.
Red, White and Blue!
Again, I had a lot of fun creating each square in Real Red, Night of Navy, Basic Gray or Whisper White.
