Stampin’ Blends with Varied Vases Stamp Set

When the new Stampin’ Up! catalog went live in June, I quickly scanned it over looking for new Stampin’ Blends.  I was so happy Stampin’ Up! added new colors to the collection.  With my Varied Vases Card Class, I knew the new colors would be an outstanding choice in coloring the flowers.  Here’s the card I created using the Stampin’ Blends with Varied Vases Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Blends:

It is no secret I was a little hesitate when the Stampin’ Blends were introduced.  However, over time and much practice, I LOVE THEM!  I actually tried to color the items with our Watercolor Pencils and Markers and was not thrilled with the end results.  Grabbed my blends and loved the vibrant colors against the white card stock.  Below you will see the colors I used to color the flowers.  I stamped the images in Memento Ink, let it dry then began.

The Details!

Embossing the Whisper White Card Stock with the Tufted Embossing Folder was the right amount of texture for the card.  I did not emboss the whole piece, I wanted to stamp my sentiment along the bottom of the card.  I added the new Granny Apple Ribbon just below the Layering Square Framelit focal point.

card measurements:

  • card base cut 5 1/2″ x * 1/2″
  • score at 4 1/4″
  • cut Basic Black card sock 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • cut Whisper White card stock 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • emboss with the Tufted Embossing Folder
  • cut Granny Apple card stock 3 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
  • die cut Basic Black layering square
  • cut THICK WHITE card stock 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

stamp then color!

When I use Stampin’ Blends, I recommend using the Memento Ink to avoid the blends from smearing.  I stamp, let it try and then color.  I use the Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter to create some shading as well.

The Varied Vases Bundle

This particular card was part of my Varied Vases Bundle Class. It was fun creating 3 different styles of cards all around one bundle.  Do you often sit and craft and make several projects from one stamp set?  I would love to hear or better yet, see what you create.  Time to wrap up this post and start thinking of new projects to create,  Products used in the card are listed below for an easy reference.  Remember during the month of August, Stampin’ Up! is running it’s Bonus Days promotion.  For every $50 USD/$60 CAD you spend before August 31 (before shipping and tax) you earn a $5 USD/$6 CAD Bonus Days coupon code that can be used September 1–30.  Is that not terrific!  I love when you are rewarded for purchasing.

Happy Stampin’
