Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2018
It’s that time again, the first Monday of the month! YAY! That means it is Color Fusers Blog Hop Time! There is a whole lot of color in this month’s selection and I decided it was time to mix it up and NOT create a card. Let’s take a look at my creation for Color Fusers Blog Hop August 2018!
Is that a SCRAP BOOK Layout?
It seems it has been FOREVER that I created a double page 12×12 layout. When I first started with Stampin’ Up! all I focused on was creating pages. My boys have several books which I am so thankful for but lately, scrap booking has taken a back seat to other projects. Well, I am happy to say, I bit the bullet and made a layout and now can’t wait to offer it as a class! Using the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set with the Coordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits, I was able to showcase all the colors in this month’s color challenge!
Incentive Trip to Alaska!
When I saw the colors featured in this month’s blog hop, it reminded me of the flowers I saw in Victoria, BC. It was the last port on the incentive trip and seeing the town with my Canadian Stampin’ Up! friends was a true delight. I took a few of my favorite pictures, developed them and began the process of creating around them. On the Canada page, I chose to highlight pictures taken by the ship. On the whale watching excursion, we saw a few sea lions, a humpback whale and a pod of orcas. None of the whales went on full out of the water display, however, the scenery was extremely pretty. The blue sky, the calm water and fresh air made for a great morning. I absolutely LOVED the large frame located on the dock. We had some fun taking a few photos there.
Page Two!
After we finished with our excursion, Brian and I met up with Allison, Anne, Kevin and Rose in Victoria. We headed to a nice pub for lunch that was filled with lots of laughs as our Canadian friends purchased t-shirts for us to wear back home. How lucky I am to have met these lovely ladies and to spend a week with their families. As we walked back to grab a cab, we did some shopping of course. However, the flowers in the gardens as well as the hanging baskets around town were all so vibrant. The marina was just as pretty and I wish we had a little more time to explore before having to board the ship.
The Details:
When I scrap book, the first thing I decide on are my pictures. Maybe not necessarily the exact ones I will be using but the group of pictures. I seem to pick pictures that are relatively new as well because the occasion is fresh in my mind. I order my pictures then separate them out according to time frame. My first page had photos that started earlier in the day or that were taken by the ship. My second page had pictures from Victoria and ended with the our activity once back on board. Do not feel overwhelmed when you scrap book. I was wearing a smile as I looked at each picture and placed them onto my layout. Go with what hits you first and work it into your project. Some pictures will be eliminated just because of the space or maybe the color of the pictures. I love creating one of the pages with the same size pictures. Designing on a 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ square is rather fun too!
