Pop of Petals Bundle
I always look to see what new punches are released when Stampin’ Up! brings out a new catalog. Punches are easy to use and compliment the creations as fast as 1, 2, 3. The Pop of Petals Bundle includes a stamp set and a coordinating punch, Four Petal Flower. I will admit I was nervous when Stampin’ Up! retired the Pansy Punch, however I truly feel I will be just fine using the new Four Petal Flower Punch! Look how awesome the stamp set and punch are in the Pop of Petals Bundle!
Creating my first card!
I received my bundle a few weeks ago but other stamp sets got in the way from me using it. On Tuesday, I needed one more card for class and said today is the day I use this bundle! I love creating cards and limiting the use of multiple stamps to complete it. Are you wondering why? My thought is max out what is in front of me. Often stamp sets include images and greetings. That is such a relief to me because it proves how versatile one stamp set can be. However, there are times no greeting is present, like in the Pop of Petals Stamp Set. Easy fix, pick a stamp set that only includes sentiments to show the usefulness of a greeting stamp set!
Calligraphy Essentials Stamp Set!
The Calligraphy Stamp Set is paired with the Calligraphy Essentials Card Kit in the Stampin’ Up! Annual catalog. I do not have any stamp set like it and I love how I can change it up so easily. Looking at my cards above, I used the Old Olive Stampin’ Blends and shaded the letters. Last week, I used the set and stamped directly on card stock which looked awesome as well. The Stampin’ Blends in case you may have forgotten are one of my FAVORITE items! They are back in stock and work perfectly on the Pop of Petals flowers! I created three cards because I was having fun coloring. It’s so funny how a childhood pastime of coloring makes me smile each and every time!
Stampin’ Blends!
When I use my Stampin’ Blends, I try to always use the Thick White Card Stock. (They work on the regular Whisper White Card Stock as well, just personal preference.) It is not recommended to use watercolor card stock as it will absorb too much of the alcohol from the markers. I stamp with Memento Ink, let it sit for a moment and then start to color. It is still trial and error with my shading skills. The Stampin’ Blends Color Lifter helps nicely if I over color or I want to make more of an impact with the colors. My flowers, I used 3 different combo pack, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral and Rich Razzleberry with dark Daffodil Delight for the center. The Wink of Stella was added at the very end (even after ribbon) because I love how it sparked with the Black Shimmer Ribbon!
Shimmer Ribbon!
My love for ribbon is strong! LOL. I love all 4 colors offered in the Shimmer Ribbon and the effect it brings out on my creation. I offer ribbon splits on numerous ribbons. What is the reason?
