Paper Pumpkin June 2018, Broadway Star
Did you miss it? It’s ok, I am going to share with you the kit in today’s post PLUS a few alternative projects I created with the Paper Pumpkin June 2018, Broadway Star. It was the first time Paper Pumpkin and product from our annual catalog actually coordinated! That is right, the Broadway Bound Suite in the Stampin’ Annual Catalog works perfectly with the June kit, Broadway Star.
The kit:
When I received my kit, I immediately opened it. I love that first look and seeing what my reaction will be, I often try not to think about it’s arrival so when it comes I am super surprised and eager to open. The Broadway Star Kit caught my attention with the bold colors of Lemon Lime Twist and Lovely Lipstick against the black and white backgrounds. The gold accents added to the project definitely enhanced the “broadway” feel of glitz! Sitting down, I began to create the two projects included in the kit before venturing in making alternative ones.
Alternative Projects!
One of the best features about Paper Pumpkin kits is everything you need to create the projects in the kit are included with the exception of scissors. Not a bad deal to have all I need in one little box all organized and ready to go. However, there are times I can venture out and create something different. This month, I made 3 different items to showcase the kit. I didn’t use products from the coordinating Broadway Bound Suite because I literally had fun using what was right in front me! I did need a few odds and ends like card stock but literally, everything else was included in my kit.
Tri-fold Card:
The Tri-fold Card has been a fun card for me this past month. I have created it numerous times for my Bingo Bash, a friend’s birthday, card class and now as an alternative project for Paper Pumpkin. Have you tried to create one? Grab a sheet of 12×12 card stock and let’s begin!
- cut card stock 5 1/2″ x 12″
- score with the 12″ along the top at 4 1/4″ and 8 1/2″ (YES, this makes the trip-fold card fit into a regular envelope!!!)
- cut a layering piece for the inside 4″ x 5 1/4″
- on the inside flap, cut a solid card layer 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″
- cut a layering piece for the inside flap 3 1/4″ x 4 1/4″
- for the front flap, decorate as you wish!
I love using Designer Series Paper as my card base as well. It is so much fun creating the tri-fold card that don’t wait too long to try one for yourself!
3″x 3″ Note Cards:
A simple little note card to attach to a gift bag or a present.
- cut the Lovely Lipstick Paper 3″ x 6″
- score at 3″
- cut 2 squares 2 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ and overlap on the front of the
- using the black and gold twine, tie around card
- pop up a cake
- stamp sentiment in lovely lipstick and adhere with mini dimensionals
- add one sequins
Treat Holder:
In need of a quick treat holder? I created the M&M’s Treat holder rather quickly!
- cut Lovely Lipstick Card Stock 3 1/2″ x 7 3/4″
- score at 3/4″ and 4 1/4″
- using a staple, staple the bottom flap with one staple (hidden by sentiment)
- decorate the front flap 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ Designer Series Paper or in this case the card base
- embellish
- add candy and tuck card stock into flap
