Creating a Designer Series Paper Gift Bag

Do you ever find yourself in need of a gift bag?  It happens to me all the time!  Thankfully a friend of mine, recently posted how to create this cute gift bag made from two sheets of 12 x12 Designer Series Paper.  Time for you to grab your supplies!  Creating a Designer Series Paper Gift Bag from any of the pattern paper packs will make the perfect bag!

Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper

I choose to work with the Tranquil Textures Designer Series Paper Pack to create my gift bag.  I was in need of a masculine themed card and bag and it was ideal choice!  The patterns are basic not floral and have a lot of colors present. I love how the washed out patterns look.  Making a quick note card to tie to the bag was simple but effective.  Using Stampin Up! products make creating so much fun since everything coordinates and matches perfectly!

The Gift Bag!

As you know, creating a one of kind is almost impossible for me!  I make one and as I am wrapping it up I think, how will it look in another pattern or color.  Before you know it, 2 of anything is usually created.  Same with the gift bag.  After I finished and delivered the gift, I came home and created another.  I made a slight error in cutting (not really and error, I adjusted) and then had to make yet another one!  Honestly, once you make one you will want to make a few because of the finished project!  Ready to try one?

A video!

Yes, I made a Facebook Live video yesterday for my group.  I started it and quickly ended it when I made the “error” in cutting.  Instead of scoring, I cut.  Like I said, I stopped the video, finished the bag and then started the new video without making the same error!  Let me know if you find the video helpful.  I appreciate all the feedback and comments.

The Details:

  • two 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper sheets
  • cut one piece 8″ x 12″ ( use the left over for note card!)
  • score the 8″ x 12″ at 1″ on 3 sides and one at 3″  (watch the video to see the “short” side gets the 3″ score)
  • score the 12″ x 12″ at 3″ on 3 sides and one side at 1″

Watch the video to see how to assemble the bag.  I am not sure I can “write” the directions accurately without losing you.  You will need adhesive or tear tape to secure bag.  Any questions, please contact me!

The Note Card:

  • cut the Night of Navy card stock 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″
  • cut the Designer Series Paper  3″ x 4 1/2″
  • use Happy Birthday Thinlit on Glimmer Paper (attach glimmer paper to adhesive sheet for easy placement)
  • use balloon bouquet punch and twine for balloons
  • chalk marker for accents
