Stamper Dozen Blog Hop June 2018

It’s time for the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop June 2018 to begin!  YAY!  I am currently involved in 2 blog hops and will say participating in a blog hop truly brightens my day!  Sure I think about what to create and what I will write, however, I love the challenge set up by the blog organizer.  It encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and create something I may not necessarily would have.  For the Stampers Dozen Blog Hop June 2018, Patty kept it rather easy – ANYTHING GOES!

Hand Delivered Stamp Set

When the new Stampin’ Up! catalog went live, I immediately fell in love with the Hand Delivered Stamp Set.  This stamp set is part of the Stampin’ Rewards Host Program!  What are Stampin’ Rewards?  It is an incentive program designed to reward those who host a workshop or party where orders collectively reach $150.  The host receives a % of “free money” to spend on merchandise.  A single order of $150 also is entitled to Stampin’ Rewards!  Currently there are 6 stamp sets exclusive in the Stampin’ Rewards Host Program.  They can only be “purchased” with Stampin’ Rewards.

Blog Hop Creation!

Finally, the card I created using the Hand Delivered Stamp Set.  I chose to highlight a returning color, a carried over color as well as NEW color on my card. Stampin’ Up! revamped it’s color palette with the 2018 Catalog and the colors are amazing!  The Highland Heather is a welcome addition as well as the return of Blackberry Bliss combined with fan favorite Pool Party, created a soft but dramatic color contrast card.  Of course, creating just one was not enough for me that I experimented and made three!  Do you love this cute card made with the Hand Delivered Stamp Set?

Watercoloring!

I am trying to expand from my normal stamp and go routine and add a little watercoloring to my creations.  The balloons and the girl both provide an opportunity to use an Aqua Painter with reinkers to color.  Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Markers or the Stampin’ Blends could also be used on the images.  I chose the aqua painter because I need a little practice with shading.  I tried the card several times, keeping with the same colors to avoid mixing the inks.  The end result I think looks pretty good!  Did you notice the sentiments in the stamp set?  I am always looking for a “get well” or “miss you” to add to a card.  How fun would this be to create for a high school or college graduation.  The balloons could be colored using the school’s colors!  I have a few cards I need to create!
