All Occasions Card Club June 2018
I am sure you have heard about Card Clubs. I currently have an All Occasion Card Club that is wrapping up it’s third month. Each month, I create cards around a theme (baby, thinking of you, sympathy, just about any occasions except birthday or thank you) for club members to assemble. They love the 4 card designs and comment each time this is their favorite. It truly is a lot of fun what I get to do and share. For my All Occasions Card Club June 2018 Class, the cards features 2 bundles from the new catalog. The first card posted featured the Abstract Impressions Bundle. Today’s post highlights the new Rooted in Nature Stamp Set from the Rooted In Nature Bundle.
Rooted in Nature
I will say I was a bit hesitate to start using the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set. With summer finally arriving here in New York, the leaves and color combination quickly reminded me of fall. But I decided to go for it and I do not regret it one bit! I love the mix of Blackberry Bliss with Grapefruit Grove shown in the Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper. This fun card highlights the paper as well as the stamp set. I saw something similar online and without wasting any time decided I wanted to create my own version!
Create your own!
For my card club class I make 2 regular cards and 2 note cards. Wanting to surprise them with a “different” fold, I made Rooted In Nature Card. Not a hard concept to duplicate and that is why I had to share it.
- cut card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- score at 4 1/4″
- with the 8 1/2″ along the top of your trimmer, cut off 2 1/2″ x 5 1/2″
- trim piece to 1 3/4″ x 5 1/2″
- cut 2 layering pieces (Blackberry Bliss) 1 1/2″ x 5 1/4″
- cut Designer Series Paper (Nature’s Poem) 1 1/4″ x 5″
- using a window sheet, cut 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ to adhere the bottom piece of the card base (see picture above)
- for the inside of the card, cut 4″ x 5 1/4″
- die cut layering scallop circle and stitched shape circle framelits
As you can see, I used mini glue dots to attach the window sheet and then dimensionals for the sentiment. At first, I did not used the window sheet but it felt more secure when I did.
A QUICK video!
I made this simple video showing you the card once it was completed. I stamped the inside with images from the Rooted In Nature Set. Adding the ribbon and bow of course finished my card. I really like the contrast between the two colors. What do you think?
