It’s February, January 2018 is already in the past. It is crazy how fast time passes. To kick off February I held my Lovely Bingo Bash! It is so much fun this type of event and I was blessed, 18 people joined in on a fun-filled Saturday! Here is a look at my Lovely Bingo Bash Part 1!
Lovely Bingo Bash Part 1!
Each quarter I hold a Bingo Event at my home. It is a popular event with the local customers. We gather and make at least two projects and play 6 rounds of Bingo. It brightens my day to see so many people enjoying the game of Bingo. On February 3rd, I held my Lovely Bingo Bash! It was perfect timing to create Valentine themed projects. Plus, Stampin’ Up! is amazing with providing awesome products to work with! Want the details?
The Prep Work:
Yes, ALL crafting takes time, ask any crafter. However, it is time well spent. I sometimes feel overwhelmed (can’t lie) but I know the end result is ALWAYS worth it. The extra steps I take like making bows or cutting out big shot shapes are appreciated by my customers.
Each of my customers received a packet when they arrived for the event. The projects were separated into smaller bags for easy assembling.
Once the deadline for signing up is finished, the fun starts! Ordering and assembling the raffles! There were many items from the Occasions Catalog included in the raffles. I love how they look all assembled.
8″ x 8″ Framed Art:
Today’s post will feature the 8″ x 8″ Framed Art piece everyone created. This is something new to me as I have been creating 12″ x 12″ framed art for over year. I found the 9″ x 9″ frame at a local Dollar Tree. The trick with this size and using the frame, is not add too many dimensionals. The “flatter” the art piece is the better it will fit into the frame.
Measurements:
To start, you will need your Stampin’ Up! paper trimmer.
- Cut 9 Whisper White 2 1/4″ square
- Cut a total of 9 layering 2″ squares from card stock and Designer Series Paper. I have 3 solid cardstock pieces and 6 from Painted Love Speciality Designer Series Paper
- Cut mounting cardstock 8″ x 8″ (Blushing Bride)
- Cut two 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ strips of cardstock (not in Blushing Bride – read below*)
- Cut 9″ x 9″ piece of Whisper White to place in frame
The details:
As you can see I embellished the squares. I added touches of gold to bring out the gold accents in the Painted Love Speciality Designer Series Paper. Fortunately, Stampin’ Up! offers several items in gold that finished off my project, Gold Glimmer Paper, Gold Ribbon and Gold Enamel Shapes. (All items used in the framed art will be listed at the bottom of the post. )
*As for placement of the squares, you will need your two 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ pieces of cardstock. On the picture below, you can see how it aids with placing your squares evenly. I start with the outside corners and then place the 4 middle squares with the center square being the last one to be added to the art piece.
Sorry, the picture is blurry. I guess zooming in wasn’t the best thing option, however, you can still make out what is being done.
A fun-filled afternoon!
This was the first time I held my Bingo Event on a Saturday. A house filled with Stampin’ Up! people is awesome!
Lovely Bingo Bash February 2018 is finished!

Excellent summary, so when they signed up they knew they were getting certain items for the price they paid? Did you then have a raffle and offer prizes as well! Thanks for all of this information!
Hi! When I first posted about the event I didn’t list specifically what they would be receiving other than they would be making make and take and that I take a portion of the class fee to create prizes. I did post a sneak peek of the projects before the event. With using Occasions Catalog items, anything in their goody bag would be a welcome surprise. We play 6 rounds of bingo and I make up numerous prizes as you can see in the one picture of the prize table. People get to pick when they win. I had 5 sale-a-bration items as door prizes – everyone received a raffle for that. Thank you for your comment too – I so appreciate feedback!!!!
Sounds like a very fun get-together. Your customers who can attend are very lucky. I really enjoy receiving your posts. Love your cards – they are unique and creative.
Thank you so much for your comment. We did have a fun afternoon crafting and playing bingo. A lot of laughs filled my home. I am so glad to read you like my cards 🙂 THANK YOU again!
