Time to move on to our next occasion…Valentine’s Day.  Although sending a love note can happen any day of the year, it seems hearts are shared a lot during the month of January.  I finally broke out the NEW Heart Happiness Stamp Set from the Occasions 2018 Catalog.   The large heart stamp set jumped out at me and I knew I had to make a card!

NEW Hearts Happiness Stamp Set

The large floral heart is definitely my focal point for my card.  I chose to stamp on Thick White Card Stock and used the NEW Stampin’ Blends to color.  Have you tried the new Stampin’ Blends?  If not, you WANT TO and then order a set for yourself.  SO AMAZING!!  Anyway, back to talking about the stamp set.  I LOVE all the shapes, sizes and variety you receive in ONE stamp set.  The stamp set will come in handy for future projects, guaranteed.

The Fun-Folded Card!

After I stamped and colored the heart, it was time to add it to a card base. I didn’t want the normal fold and thought it would be special to try a different fold.  Want to give it a try too?  Grab card stock and your paper trimmer!

Card measurements:

• cut card base (Thick Whisper White) 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
• score (with the 8 1/2″ along the top) at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″
• cut Designer Series Paper (Petal Passion) 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″
• cut solid cardstock (Basic Black) 2″ x 5 1/4″
• for the sentiment, cut 1/2″ x 2″ and stamp (Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set)

As you can see from the picture, it’s a tri-fold card.  I really love the layering circle framelits.  It was the perfect choice to highlight the heart.  I tried picking one of the colors as a layering piece but it just didn’t work for me.  I love the pop of color is only on the heart!  With the Stampin’ Blends or Stampin’ Markers, the heart can be colored in NUMEROUS colors.

A chilly weekend!

As the temperature dropped to BELOW zero the past few days, I am trying to thaw out!  I am such a warm weather girl and this cold goes straight to my bones. My children had 2 snow days and my youngest was out in the “blizzard” having a grand old time.  I stayed inside and last night I finally broke out my new supplies and created for my upcoming card class. It truly helps to do what you love to warm your soul!
