Time is moving quicker than I ever expected. In late August, my oldest son started his Freshman year of college. Unfortunately, I do not have a college first-day photo of Kyle BUT I do have a few snapshots of my other boys. It makes me happy to see I have stayed on top of preserving my memories of my children’s first day of school. Back to school 2017 pages are complete!
Back to School 2017
As the boys are getting older, the picture taking is getting shorter. I was able to have them pose for a few. Thankfully no rain in the forecast but the early start to the day was challenging. We are not used to being up so early! My husband tends to drive Kory to school on most days since the bus comes almost 45 minutes before school begins. Kraig, entering middle school this year, still takes the bus. He was definitely happy about starting a new school and making new friends.
6th Grade!
Like most of my pages, I create a double layout. Each page could work independently but I tie them together by keeping the color combination and embellishments similar. I once saw in a scrapbook magazine a woman had her children write their name on the first day. Instantly, I fell in love with her page showcasing her child’s signature from Pre-K to 12th grade. Each year, I have the boys add their signature to their page. It is a great way to see how their penmanship changes from year to year.
10th Grade!
You can not go wrong using the Large Letter and Large Number Framelits on your own back to school pages. I chose to highlight them with Whisper White popping out from behind. It’s a time saver being able to cut 2 of each letter at the same time! As you can see most of my pictures are rectangular or square in size. The Stampin’ Up! Paper Trimmer is ideal when scrapbooking. I often add a Layering Circle or Oval Framelit picture for some contrast.
College Student!
Of course, I can not leave out my oldest. Our house is a bit quieter with him away, but thankfully he isn’t too far and has come home a few times since school started.
I hope you find time to scrapbook your memories. It brings me a lot of joy to look back through my books. From time to time, I catch my children looking through them as well. Creating pages does not require hours of work. Select your favorite photos, place on a page and embellish around. Using Stampin’ Up! products makes creating pages fun!
Happy Stampin’!
