When the NEW In Colors arrived in the Annual Catalog, it was love at first sight. Each and every color was a welcome addition to our already amazing color families. This month, the September 2017 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop is focusing on a color challenge! Always up for the challenge, I hope you enjoy hopping through the blogs to see the numerous creations featuring Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Very Vanilla.
September 2017 Stampers Dozen Blog Hop:
When the theme was announced, I wasn’t 100% sure what I was going to create. Finally, I decided I wanted to keep my focus on Fall related projects. This lead to the Vintage Leaves Stamp Set and Leaflets Framelits being chosen. Which embossing folder should I use? Easy decision because I just received my Pinewood Planks Dynamics Textured Embossing Folder and was itching to use it! Just to experiment, I placed my Very Vanilla layer (5″ x 3 3/4″) on a diagonally. The look does not disappoint! As for the shading, scroll down and see how the leaves look up close. The three colors together are pretty striking. My toughest decision, horizontal or vertical layout?
Coloring the leaves:
One of my favorite items in our annual catalog is the Sponge Daubers. Why? Mainly my hands do not completely get covered with ink when I am shading a project. I have a little more control then if I was to use our Stamping’ Sponges. As you can see in the picture, the leaves I shaded in 3 colors. I always start with the lightest shade first and then follow with dark shades. Both the Fresh Fig and Tranquil Tide are bold, rich colors that I had to carefully sponge dauber the color. I do love the shading and the look of the 3 colors together. They really pop against the Very Vanilla Card Stock.
