I was so excited when my supplies from the Whole Lot of Lovely Suite arrived.  The Designer Series Paper looked beautiful in the catalog, that I could only imagine how it would be in person.  I was not disappointed!  The patterns each unique, some bold, some soft, some with a mix of light and dark.  Yesterday, I posted one side of the paper and today I am showing the same designed card but with other patterns from the pack.  Part Two:  The Whole Lot of Lovely Suite…

Part Two: The Whole Lot of Lovely Suite:

As you can see the palate is soft even with Basic Black being added into the equation.  The contrast between Pool Party, Powder Pink and Tranquil Tide makes each color stand out.  By switching the card base color, it gives a different look to the card.  So simple but effective!  I think I could create these cards all day long!

Creating your own card!

How about you create this simple banner card?  Grab your paper trimmer, a pack of Designer Series Paper, coordinating card stock and some adhesive and follow along.  If you do not have the Whole Lot of Lovely Designer Series Pack to create with, that’s ok!  Just try to pick patterns that are complimentary to each other.  Having a pack of Designer Series Paper makes the search process easier.

I created a video to demonstrating how I created the card from start to finish.  Although longer than I had hoped, I feel like I talked super fast!  If you have any questions, please Contact Me.  I am always here to help.

Banner Measurements:

To make the banners, you will need 5 strips of the pattern paper.

  • 1 pattern strip 1 1/2″ x 12″ (multi-colored striped paper)
  • 2 pattern strips 1 1/4″ (small pool party flowers and tranquil tide strips)
  • 2 pattern strips 1″ (powder pink floral and basic black with whisper white polka dots)

Next, you will cut the strips to 4″ making 3 piles so you can create 3 cards from 12 x 12 piece of paper!  YAY!!  Love maximizing my supplies.

I used my Triple Banner Punch on all the strips.  I slightly trimmed the 1″ strips with my paper snips (or trimmer) after I put them in the punch but before overlapping.  The picture below should help you see how I placed the banners.  Again, the 1″ banners I trimmed slightly so they would not be as long as the others.

lots of love stamp set, whole lot of lovely DSP, bonniestamped, in color 2017-2019, stamping' up!

Finishing Touches:

Greeting:

For the greeting, I showcased 2 of the word choices.  Using a 1 3/4″ circle punch, I punched a Whisper White circle.  Next, with the Tranquil Tide Ink, I stamped a border along the outside edge.  Both greetings fit nicely in the center of the circle.  The Love You heart can be cut with our Sweet and Sassy Framelits. (no fussy cutting!)

Ribbon:

The In Color 2017-2019 is wrapped to the front of the card and a bow is placed on top.  I often add ribbon this way because people have an easier time with the bow making.  The ribbon is beautiful on every project I add it to.  As you know, I do have it as a ribbon split.  Ribbon splits are a wonderful way of having all the In Color Ribbon without going over your budget.

It looks like I’m just about finished.  In case you missed the previous post on the suite, here’s the link, A Whole Lot of Lovely Suite. The color combinations on this paper reminds me that fall is approaching.  I truly LOVE summer, trying to enjoy every last second of the warm sun!
