When new product is released, I am overwhelmed with what to create with first! I chose the Oh So Eclectic Bundle as a starting point for my first Product Based Class. I love the flowers, love the thinlits, love the designer series paper. It was a stand out from day one! The whimsical shape of the flowers and the coordinating thinlits make it so easy to create! I LOVE the fact that the thinlits fit inside of one another. For instance the flower shown in my picture requires 2 thinlits. One does the detail lines and the other actually cuts the flower out. Being able to use both at the same time is a life saver!
Oh So Eclectic Card Swap!
Since I fell in love with the bundle, I decided to use it for my monthly team meeting swap! Thinking of how to “wow” my team I decided to do a fancy folded card. I tend to keep things simple so others can duplicate my creations with ease.
To cut for the fancy folded card:
- cut your card base at 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″
- Score at 4 1/4″
- To create the “flap” you will trim off 2 3/4 x 4 1/4 section. (You will notice in the card below, one of the cards has a flap going upward and the other has it opening to the left.) I used my Stampin’ Up! Trimmer to make a nice clean cut!
Tip: use the 2 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ scrap to cut your oval layer for the greeting!
I added a small piece of Whisper White card stock for my note. The measurement is 3 3/4″ x 2 1/2.” I didn’t want the Whisper White Card Stock to show when the card is closed. I stamped the images on the card stock and for my Watercolor Words Photopolymer Stamp Set sentiment, I chose the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies and the Layering Ovals Framelits Dies The Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper, has wonderful patterns to choose from. I love how the Fresh Fig and Lemon Lime Twist contrast each other. The NEW Clear Faceted Gems added the right amount of sparkle!
Oh So Eclectic Bundle:
As I mentioned before, the Eclectic Layering Thinlits are pretty special! I love that you can place the detailed thinlit inside the outline thinlit. Both the flowers and gem shapes are capable of this. It definitely is a time saving when making cards!
