When you are fortunate enough to head to a Major League Baseball game, you go. (Especially when your children all love the sport.) In our case, it was this past Sunday, Memorial Day Weekend, with the perfect weather for a game at Yankee Stadium. Kyle and his friend were both off from Varsity Baseball and came to watch the big leaguers. We arrived in time to see Aaron Judge hit his first grand slam…exciting moment when the crowd cheers. Kraig and I were able to go the NY Yankees Museum for him to take a quick snapshot in the “locker room.” Following the game, it was the perfect time for me to create a baseball scrapbook page to highlight our day!
Snapshots:
I am such a people picture person, that I LOVE scrapbooking and looking back on so many of life events. For today’s layout, I kept it simple. When you take pictures with your phone (iPhone for me) the pictures are anything but small. Most of my layouts, I max out on pictures. I will say I have never made a page with only one picture. I would have no idea how to narrow it down to one picture. As you can see, my pictures are all square or rectangle. The one picture of my youngest, Kraig, I used Stampin’ Up! Layering Circle Framelits to cut and layer. The baseball as well was created with the framelits. Add some red thread with your red marker to create your own baseball.
Details:
Fitting all the pictures you want, doesn’t have to be a chore. I chose to keep mine all 3 3/4″ wide and the height varied. Once I had all my pictures in place, it was time to fill in the gaps. I chose the “hooray” stamp from from the Watercolor Words Stamp Set. The star also came from the stamp set! The game day was created with a retired alphabet set. However, the Brushwork Alphabet was used on the baseball! I love the fancy font! Definitely a change from my other alphabet sets. I find it easier to stamp each letter individually then trying to build it onto a clear block. It may take longer but I feel I better control with placement. I used the 3/4″ circle punch to record a few notes about the game. ( date, home run, score)
Bonus Baseball Scrapbook Page:
Last year, I created another baseball layout…actually with 3 boys playing baseball, I create a new layout each year to highlight their season. This was a big series for my oldest as they advanced in the playoffs. Tomorrow, the team is hoping to continue in the playoff race. We unfortunately lost today (heartbreak) but a win tomorrow will keep us in the hunt. Fingers crossed 🙂 I like using the 3/4″ circle to create baseballs!
Thoughts:
I do weekly craft classes at my home. My attendance for scrapbook classes have been low. I am not sure why? Do you like to scrapbook? Or do you find it overwhelming? Lately, my focus has been on card making and card classes. I will be posting another layout to share that I finished yesterday as well. With my website under 6 months old, I haven’t had a chance to upload a lot of my older scrapbook pages. However, if you go to my Pinterest site, Bonnie’s Scrapbook Pages, you can see my past layouts. It may inspire you to start or return to scrapbook. My love for scrapbooking is how I found Stampin’ Up! I plan on creating more pages!
