It was that time, monthly scrapbook class was on the schedule and Sale-a-bration coming to an end! What to do? Of course, I had to use Sale-a-bration items on my pages! In this case I used 2 stamp sets and the Carried Away Designer Series Paper. I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, I kind of had a vision, but I often let the pictures lead me in my design as well as color combination! In the Occasions 2017, Stampin’ Up! provided one assorted 12 x 12 card stock pack. In the pack, Sahara Sand, Soft Sky and Pink Pirouette were the choices for my 12 x 12 background. Sahara Sand won out, followed by using Early Espresso as ink color and then I saw the Carried Away DSP and knew Peek-a-boo Peach was my third color. I could of easily added another color, but as I started creating, I loved the look of the 3 colors and didn’t want anything to distract it. The stamp sets, Make a Medallion and Delicate Details, helped create beautiful stamped backgrounds. I thought about covering up some of the medallion stamp, but I am glad I left it alone. My pictures are LARGE. The use of iPhone photos is challenging since many of them are the full 4×6 size and trimming them down really is not an option. For the title, Winter Fun, I used the Layered Letters Alphabet from the annual catalog. The use of an alphabet stamp set, makes stamping a title EASY! You can pick anything! I had to keep mine simple to fit on the 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ square. As you can see, I balanced both pages with including the same elements on each page. Winter 2017 has been rather quiet here on Long Island, but we did have a few events that needed to be highlighted and it all came together. I am looking forward to spring!
When you use the alphabet set, Layered Letters, you never run out of a letter!
I have always loved to scrapbook. I can remember scrapbooking since my teen years! There is just something special about creating pages around your memories. The end result enhances your pictures and you get to relive the moment the pictures were taking. People often ask me how I do it or how do I find the time. The time to create, like everything, you find the time. As to how to scrapbook, that is a loaded question! There is no wrong or right way to scrapbook. Just printing your pictures and adding them to card stock, adding some embellishments, in this case Stampin’ Up! products, makes me appreciate the life I am creating. As my children get older, their childhood is preserved in the MANY books I have for them. I don’t often journal, which could be a downside, but through the pictures I am able to remember where and when they were taken. Find the time to develop your pictures! You don’t need to overwhelm yourself, pick one topic, a vacation, a birthday, an event and do a basic set up. I tend to do more current pictures, just because the event is still fresh in my memory. I print out several pictures, group them by event and then figure out my placement. You can keep it simple but cutting pictures the same size. In the above layout, the left page several of the pictures are the same size! I did that on purpose for balance. All the decorative pieces are the same size rectangle. Same with the 3 squares on the right page, they are all 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″. Stamps make a great addition to your scrapbook pages. Go create your master piece highlighting your favorite moments!
Sale-a-bration is ending soon, 16 days to be exact! The Make a Medallion (left image) and Delicate Details (right image) Stamp Sets can be used over and over in a variety of ways!
